Default 120 or 140 front tire

Getting ready to put some new wheels on my crossbones and wanted to get some feedback on tire size. Since i will be going with a 21" front my thought are a 120 or 140, and for the rear staying the same 200mm of course either 50 or 55...Would like to hear pro's and cons from those who are or have run similar. Thanks in advance

I switched from the 90 that came on my Train to a 120 and then a 140. The 120 was a big improvement and the 140 is even better. The 140 is huge though so it looks funny if you don't lower the front end. It's the same size as putting a 23 on just more rubber and less wheel.

I know it's after the fact but I am running an 18x4.5 with metzler 880 -140 on my bones and love the look! If I was doing a 21 I'd get a 140 and lower the front end.

I'm not a pro by any means but I think a 120 looks BA on Softails. As soon as I decide on wheels, I will be switching to a 120/70 myself. IMHO I think a 120 looks better with most Softails but to each their own. My FIL rolls with a 140 on his Train and loves the added stability/comfort.

IMO 120 is the beast that you need. had the 90MH on a 21X3 wheel and wasn't happy with tire or wheel. seemed to me the 90MH just ***** out fast (factory dunlop). went with 120/70 AVON and I am never going to look back. good luck with whatever you chose.

I assume I cannot fit a 120 on my stock train rim?

I don't see why not. as long as the stock wheel is the same size as the beads on the tire you should be fine. i would think correct me if i am wrong. you might have to do some adjustments with the fender.

A 120 tire is designed for a 3-3.5" rim so no you cannot. Your stock rim is 21x2.15

Thank you - now can a 140 go on a 3" rim?
