Default led turn signal mirrors

Hey all ... I have a 2011 fatboy and am looking at putting apes on the clipping the old turn signals off and using a led turn signal mirror combo ...

questions i have are does the 2011 need a load balancer ? ive done some research and seen some folks go both ways ..( didnt know if anyone has done it with out them )

and does anyone have pics of em on ... especially where the wires come out of the stem etc

are there any issues etc ?

I did this on my 2010 Fat Bob. I used the HD kit. Cut the wires at the handle bars and then instead of using the Y-harness to split the signal. I rewired the connectors so that I was using the factory wiring. Sounds complicated but once you have the project in front of you it's clearer.
If you put the wires in backwards they won't blink properly. And I didn't need a load balancer on that bike. The indicator blinked fast for a few seconds the first time and then settled down to normal.
The mirror only has one wire, the second will be a ground that isn't attached to the mirror but installed like a washer(if that makes sense).

Hope this helps a little.

I am running the HD mirrors as well and try to get a pick in a little bit. But the wire is hardly noticeable. I am running them w gangster apes and never notice the wire, but mine are upright. If you don't have a set yet pm me as I have a chrome HD set that I am not using, went black and couldn't powder coat them.

Here are the pic. I could pull the wire tighter and would be even less noticeable but I do not see it when riding and it is not a show bike.

I also ran some heat shrink tubing over mine. With a little work you can make it look like stock or better. The HD kit will come with some non-heat shrink tubing that you can also use.

I'm trying to install these LED mirrors and I'm getting stuck at trying to access the turn signal connector in the frame neck. I was able to remove the rubber plug and locate the turn signal wires, but I can't pull out the connector. There doesn't seem to be any slack at all, and I'm afraid to yank on it too hard (I gave it a pretty good pull already).

In the instructions, it shows a picture of the wiring harness under the seat--something about a "service loop." My bike doesn't appear to have that same loop, so I'm not sure where I can provide any extra slack.

Any ideas?
