Slim's w/ Apes - Post Your Pics

I'm swapping my 16" Carlini 1.5" flying apes for some HD street slammers. I found that at 5,6" the increased grip pressure required to hang on combined with my hands being over my shoulders equated to numb hands real quick like. I like to feel what my brakes and clutch is doing so this was unacceptable. As cool as they looked they had to go. My $.02

Don't get hung up on avoiding lengthening your cables/wires or you are going to end up doing your mod twice.
Measure the length of your bars. Use a string from the center of your riser and run it along your bar out to the end. Each side will obviously be the same. Do the same for the bars that you would like to have.
Depending on your bike you probably can afford 3 to 5 inches at the most.
Adding length is no big deal .
Did you consider just changing the risers? Around 3 inches up will also give you an inch of pullback. You can also get pullback risers. ... risers probably won't require lengthening any of your cables or wires.
