Got my winshield for the blackline today. Not the coolest looking thing, but should come in handy. I have a trip to Vegas coming up, so it should help there, and I'm hoping to extend my riding season into some cooler weather here in Denver. It is quick disconnect and I got it from Kutterharleyonline.com for $350.
Looks good Papa Joe, I picked up the 19" Harley shield (cheaper than the 16" smoked) and trimmed it down to about 16.5 - 17" and works like a champ for the long rides.
I'm checking out fairings right now to see how they look and if they are worth it for blocking/directing the wind for those longer rides. If not, then I'll be ordering a HD QD Windshield.
try it on highway before the big trip for a long ride , you may find the under the shield up your knee into you face buffeting more annoying than riding without.
I did manufacture an ad-hoc contraption that blocks this wind but it looks even fuglier LOL
Thanks guys. Not my first windshield had a heritage, a fatboy, a nighttrain, and a streetglide. Had shields for all of 'em for long rides, the upward buffeting is a little annoying but much better than no shield on long rides(especially if you hit rain). I found the fairing on the streetglide was the worst of all of them, as far as buffeting goes, especially with a helmet. Just my 2 cents. Joe

Had a fairing on a streetglide once, SOA style...LOL Unless you are talking about a full batwing type fairing, I don't think you will find one that protects as well as a windshield. Maybe that memphis shades bullet fairing that is out, but that thing is FUGLY! IMO
I'd like to get a batwing fairing like the smaller ones made for the Sportsters. Fit and function will come first but it will not hurt any if it happens to look good.
I'm looking at smaller batwing style like they have for the Sportsters. Function and fit will determine what I end up with but if it happens to look good, then that's a plus.
