It is getting close to that time again, winter is right around the corner and it will be on us and here before we know it. Winter time = modifications time in my garage. I thought I would start a thread where everyone can post up their mods list and from that give others idea's. My list was going to start with stretched fenders and paint. Now? I am not too sure about that. My bike turned out so well, IMHO, that I am really digging how it looks as it sits right now. I would never ruin or paint over this set of tins, I would get used tins and have those stretched and painted, I already have another gas tank. So, now the #1 mod on my list? Pulling the heads and cylinders off and have them sent out for the diamond cut or the show cut on all the fins. Not only do I think that looks badass but it also increases the cooling surface and adds 33% more cooling surface and the engine cools down faster by 12%. When I get them back I am then sending my SE heads out to make sure they were done like I was told they were done when I bought the bike and if they are then just have them cleaned up a bit and have my valves, guides and springs checked out and inspected. If I get in there and find they have not been done then I'm going to get a 5 point valve job done on them, flowed, ported and polished. I will then have the cylinders cleaned up with new rings in it. I am also toying with the idea of another cam but that is not carved in stone and then off to the Dyno guy. I am curious to see what, if any, of what some of you guys mods list consists of.

Ugh, I can't let myself even think about that this early.
I'm not ready to break out the snow shovels just yet.
Don't rush me...!

Stop with the talk of winter already!!! I'll have decent riding weather into November, then as long as it's sunny and over 40* I'll ride.
But I picked up a set of '07 heads REAL cheap that I'll have done to complete my big bore kit.

I never put my bike up in the winter. Any day over 30, I'm riding to work. Gerbings heated gloves, long undies and a 3/4 with a face shield and I'm good to go for my 40 min. commute.

Yep, that was me 10 years ago, then I moved to North Carolina.

( Still use the Gerbings in January /February though.)

Ricor in the front and Progressive 422's for the rear are my wish list for winter mods. I ride all winter weather permitting. I prefer the riding in cool to cold weather over the heat of summer. I can always dress up for cold but not down for the heat.

Never to early for me to start talking modding. I'm planning to do ride wright twisty spoke 17 rear 18 front. Shotgun air suspension and new air cleaner cover. I probably won't be doing anything to the heritage.

Very proud to be a Yankee! Love all four seasons! Don't forget the greatest motorcycles in the world are made in the North.
