As many of u know I got a flat on my train. Bent the rim a little. Did NOT pierce the tire. I called My local stealer and the guy told me that my bike has a tube. Although I told him that my tire says its tubeles on the side wall, he said ,No. It has a tube. Any one know if it really does have a tube or not? If it does, maybe I only poped my tube?
I have no way of taking the bike to the dealer, (without paying some tow guy some 140 dollars) So I plan on removing my wheel and taking it to the stealer so they can check out the tire and rim. I really dont want to trusta repaired rim so I will probably end up buying a new one as for the tire I will also prob. spend the extra 90 bucks and get it brand new.
Question is this. I know they ballance it off the bike at the dealer. So will it be posible for me to buy the wheel($410)Tire($90) and have them mount it and balance it($40). then simply take it home install it and be ready to roll? Or is there more to it than that? Like do they have to balancethe wheel/tireor do anything speacial to it once its on the bike?
How hard of a job is this? Anything Ineed to look out for? Any input is really helpful. I have all the tools to do the job by the way. Some knowledge working on cars . this is my first bike, ever.
If the dealer is charging you $410 for a new wheel, you may consider getting an aftermarket front wheel. There are tons on e-Bay for half the price. Maybe some black powdercoated 80 spokes .....
I just took the 21" chrome laced wheel off the front of my '06 FXSTI to replace it with a 16". I have the original wheel with tire mounted. I think this is the same wheel on the '07 NT. If you're interested PM me and we can work something out. Less than 1000 miles on the bike when I changed out the wheel. Like new.

Takeoff 21-inch wheel and tire combinations sell on E-Bay all the time for around a hundred and a quarter. Watch the shipping cost, some sellers are out of their minds when it comes to shipping.
If you hit something with a wheel hard enough to result in a blowout andthe impactdents the wheel don't waste amoment of your time thinking that the wheel can be saved. Instead of trying to save it just sell it on E-Bay . Go low on your shipping cost and people will bid. []
