They cancelled the blackline due to lack of popularity. I personally like the bike, it just didn't see high sakes like the slim did. I think all softails will offer a similar ride, the one thing that is going to alter that is the front end/tire size. Some have a thinner tire up front and some have a wider one. Other than that it's all comparable (at least to me).
The blackline will ride similar to any FX styled softail (i.e softail custom, softail standard, breakout). If you can find a used one at a dealer you can take it for a test ride and compare with other softails.

Except for the narrow tire on the back of the Blackline. All other recent FX softails have wide rear tires.
Also, the Breakout and Blackline ride very different.
every bike rides a lil diff.. U'll just have to ride each to see..
any FL front end should ride a lil better.. @ Lux, FB, and Heritage. plus they will have Floor B's so U can move around a lil more instead of just forward controls.
I like the breakout but wasn't going to spend that much money. I was after an 07-09 night train because I love the look. Since they are not so easy to find the blackline was pushed on me quite a bit but I really don't like the speedo on the blackline and was set on the night train. I ended up picking up an 07 with under 6k miles for $13,500 OTD.
If you are financing any of the cost of the bike go to a credit union first! I ended up getting 3.1% for 60 months, the dealer couldn't even hit double that!
