Default Anyone Try the Softail Windsplitter Shield?

Did a search and there was only one review I could find on the Wind Splitter Windshield. If anyone has actually rode with this shield please provide your review. I'm not crazy about the looks, but if it works then the looks are secondary. Thanks!

Yes, I have one on my Lo . . it's awesome, absolutely no buffeting with the adjustable vent. Haven't taken it off since I installed it except to clean it (+1 on Plexus). I really didn't care what people thought about the looks as I appreciate the function over the form.

I played around with it when I first installed it with the vent open/closed. Completely closed it acts like a regular windshield with all the associated helmet and head jarring buffeting. Crack it open and the buffeting goes away, seems to direct the air over my head. I did alot of research before I bought this and I have no regrets. BTW the 2014 Touring bikes (batwing) have this same vent built into the fairings. From what I've read and experienced, the vent relieves the negative pressure area behind the windshield thus reducing the buffeting.

I took the 2014 CVO Road King out for a test drive in August and it seemed to be very stable with that windshield. No hint of buffeting at all.

I agree with you on looks. Looks like a mail slot. Also looks like it blocks a good part of your view straight in front of the bike. Particularly at stops, I like to see the squirrely *** dips in the road, oil or gravel right in front of the bike.

I was going to get one, but the price and the fact my tach was mounted to the handlebar clamp would keep it from fitting correctly.
