My 2" lift kit arrived today, I'll take before and after pics.
Being an older softail DK's included a questionnaire, as it's a Beta.

Yep I had to. My pipe was a tad short to place the tank where it needed to be. I had the two inch kit so maybe the one or 1.5 inch kit maybe OK.

Now you should probably drain the tank then replace the hoses (but I used my sons two fingers to stop the fuel coming out while I quickly put the new hoses on, hey what the hell he asked if I needed help !! LOL).

Anyway you may have enough length on your crossover hose to move the tanks.

Good to know...
Really makes a big difference. First thing I noticed when I rode my softail was how low the speedo/tank was. I don't like to take my eyes off the road. I'm old fashioned like that! LOL.

Amen. I have alloys that I'm polishing but dammit, I'm envious of your chrome !!!! LOL

I have slightly changed my thought process but only because I can't stand the way the top of my rocker boxes look from not being able to clean them properly. Yes, I know they can't be seen but I know it's there. If I am going to lose fuel space and availability I'm back to square one and not interested again.
With or without the lift your bike looks 'Kick A$$'. The line of it looks really nice.

Well,started the install,
Draining the tank is a must,
Older bikes, dash frame has 3 bolts with stop collars these are not supplied with the kit.
DK take note. stock bolts = 2.25"
2" lift kit = 4.25"
Stock Stop Collars 1.78"
2" lift = 3.78"
The old tank mounts that bolt the frame to tank have threaded nuts, or threaded sleaves that the bolts thread into, the new mounts don't they use the new nuts and bolts (supplied), you need small nimble fingers.
And I did it again, Snapped a new bolt. But I need the missing hardware anyway. So I'll get it tomorrow.
Should have gone 1.5" lift in hindsight.
But so far it's looking good.
Man my front rocket cover is filthy.

I think people are over thinking the fuel loss issue, if there is one...I have had DK's 2" lift on my bike for 2 years and there have never been any fuel issues ever...when it starts to get low, I get some gas...I DON"T EVER run it on fumes on purpose...It's an insignificant issue...Just get some gas when your tank gets low...

You lose access to available fuel, but it's not a lot and it depends on the bike and type of lift. With the 3" lift, I can get 170 miles on a tank before I absolutely need to fill up and depending on how hard I'm riding, there's been times when I've only out 4 gallons of fuel in my 4.9 gallon tank.

Someone did say that the deluxe's fuel return runs farther bank than the standard tanks by a little bit.
