I'm not going anywhere guys. I still have my bike for now, and the new bike won't be around for a while. You can't get rid of me that easy.

Anyone who has Shotgun Shocks have an idea of how to make the compressor for ABS models output 300psi like the compressor on non-ABS models?

I'm leaning towards the route of reducing the compression chamber. I may be able to cut the sleeve to allow the head to sit lower to the piston making less flow, but more pressure. In theory, it will work (less volume = more pressure).

ABS model compressor output - 200psi
Non-ABS compressor output - 300psi

UHDhog- more than likely the max pressure is controlled by a limiter switch. reducing chamber volume might just end you up with 200psi but with smaller chamber. have you called SS to ask technically why they have lower psi on ABS models? it seems odd they'd do that without some type of sound reason.

They use different model compressors due to fitment issues under the transmission. I have been in contact with Jessica (such a great help, her and JD are awesome) and have been bouncing ideas back and forth. I havn't taken the head apart yet to see if I can adjust the output valve to a higher pressure setting.

Non-ABS models: Viair #10016
ABS models: Viair #00098

According to the Viair site, both units only output 130psi. Jess confirmed both output pressure are, in fact, different. Stating the 10016 model will hit 300psi and the 00098 at 200psi.

This all started because when I take the OL on the bike, it's waaaay too soft on the suspension. The bike would ride damn near at the hard stops. I was almost to the point of using a HPA tank that I use for paintball, set the reg at 300psi, hook the parflex hose to the SS unit, hit the switch and open the valve to get at least 300psi so we can ride at normal height.

hmm- interesting stuff- that would definitely bum me out though, especially at SS prices.
I guess if you can confirm how they are reaching and limiting the max pressures you can make the necessary adjustments. the compressor needs to know when to cut off so something has to give it feedback.

The compressor never shuts off until you let the switch go. The SS system does not have a regulation switch once it hits a certain pressure. The compressor itself can not achieve 300psi It should take the compressor 17 seconds to reach max pressure in the shocks. At that point, I could let it run all day if I wanted to and it will never get past 200psi.

I spoke with someone at Viair, of course they don't recommend changing the compressor to achieve 300psi. To hell with that, bring on the pressure!
