Quick question for those who did the swap to a blackline console. What was the overall cost in parts for your swap?

These are borrowed numbers and old. My personal costs are old too and Canadian to boot so of little use I expect. Best to look up these part numbers on HD's site and re-do the cost figures.

Blackline Console on Breakout

So long story short, I found out that instead of making a custom welded tab like johnnycondo did, you could purchase a new top plate (Part # 60900001) to replace the factory one currently installed on your bike which is (Part # 60900003 - fyi, HD has the wrong part number for the Breakout Top Plate listed in its system, trust me when I say you do NOT have 60900001 installed on your bike like their parts catalog/online catalogs would suggest, you have 60900003 installed on your Breakout). So if you want to do this mod, order Part # 60900001 and you'll be good to go.

Here are the parts needed:

Console 71340-11 $150 USD
Trim insert 72775-11 $15 USD
Inst. Moulding 71576-08a (need 2 of these) $5 USD x 2 = $10 USD
Top Plate 60900001 $45 USD

Total = $ 220 USD

I also had to return the console to Surdyke as the powder coating had imperfections around the HD emblem but they did right and send me a new one in perfect condition..

The blackline mod is pretty popular I see..... What but about switching to the CVO style. That would be my choice...

How possible is that to do?

I'm in the process of doing that. It's way more involved and pushing 600$ for all the needed parts. I was asking about black line to compare.

Well that is very depressing to hear....
I'd love to hear the final total. I don't want to compromise and follow everybody else's lead.... but if parts are going to go up above $600, before factoring in time and effort, I might just say screw it and go custom tank entirely.

Top plate is easy. 10 screws and just need to pop off the fuel pump.

but, you should buy 10 new self sealing screws and might as well replace the gasket while you have it off.

make sure you don't over torque those screws.

Put on 6" risers. Not sure if they are a tad tall. I have 4" ones on the way.
