It's just sitting in there, it's definitely not going anywhere once I put the seat back on. I just pushed a few of the other wires out of the way so it sits almost if not totally flush

That was exactly the place where mine was but I was afraid that the seat would damage the FP3. On my Iron it sits on the front side of the battery, it slides in a open space there as if it were made for it but on the Breakout I was not keen on that place as you did but I will try it out.
