I leave my FP3 plugged in, it's not mounted to anything, just slid down next to the battery.....

Is it just sitting there or did you attach it some how like velcro?

It's just sitting in there, it's definitely not going anywhere once I put the seat back on. I just pushed a few of the other wires out of the way so it sits almost if not totally flush

Thanks for the picture,

That was exactly the place where mine was but I was afraid that the seat would damage the FP3. On my Iron it sits on the front side of the battery, it slides in a open space there as if it were made for it but on the Breakout I was not keen on that place as you did but I will try it out.

I know this is a little late, but I got mine to fit behind the battery.

Guys, get a smaller battery. Lead/acid batteries were invented before the civil war. There are lots of smaller, lighter and more durable options out there.
