I've actually been doing some pretty deep digging on this. A bunch of other people on different threads and forums report that a new battery fixed their issue in regards to the LO RNG on start up. I've also noticed that my bike will hesitate to start if it hasn't been sitting on the tender. And when I say hesitate, I mean, I hit the start button, and for about 1 second nothing happens, then all a sudden the starter cranks the motor. It always starts, but just has that hesitation. On a chopper I had years ago, it had a 113 Evo and it would do the same hesitation thing, even with a brand new battery. So, I figured that was normal, but then again, my Road King with a 103 never hesitated. Maybe I'll drop a new battery in. Honestly, it's probably the original HD battery considering it only had 1047 miles on it when I bought it. Any recommendations on heavy duty batterys??

I got a new one for my FXR last fall. I forget what type they are called, but they cost about the same as a gel battery. That bike since new, ALWAYS would "thunk", let up, and then turn over. Some of you might have experienced that? This new type, hit the button and whirls over. I highly recommend.

More info about my battery...

At idle, it's 14.1v
Immediately after turning bike off, it's 12.3v
After sitting on tender all night, it's 12.2v

From another thread, a member said he pulled the below info from his owner's manual. If your battery will not hold a charge of a minimum of 12.5 volts it is dead and needs replacement.

12.7 full charge
12.6 75 %
12.3 50 %
12.5 25 %

Sooooo from that, my battery needs to be replaced...

I'm running Shorai lithium iron batteries in both bikes and love them. Lithium are much lighter and last up to twice as long as acid/lead batteries.... After researching, I went with Shorai and I think it's the best out there. I have a lot of info about them in my Rocker thread here, starting with post #760...https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...thread-76.html
The LFX36L3-BS12 model I'm using weighs less than 5lbs. has 540 (cca), and a 36 (AHr) rating which is the highest available, and way better then most.

I know theres been much discussion on Lithium batteries, but I dont regret my Shorai battery purchase. It hits hard with its 540 CC amps. Its so light it makes me wonder whats inside of it.
Would I buy another, absolutely.

Thanks for the info on where to buy. But do you got a website for RK Customs? I can’t find them.

I got it figured out. If you want the the fuel indicator to stop malfunctioning, just call the dealer and set up a time to take your bike in to get it checked out. Ever since I did that, mine has worked perfectly!

Even if it's out of warranty? What did they do? Replace BCM? Reflash ECM? I'm gonna try a fresh battery first and see if that helps, since it seems other softail models have had the issue and a weak battery was the culprit.
