I rode a '93 Sportster for over 10 years, till the motor went sour. I'd always wanted a Heritage, so I boughy an '02 about 3 years ago.

I would still be riding that Sportster if the motor hadn't blown, but would I go back?

Hell NO ... the Heritage is the bike for me.

I went from a 1200 Sporty to a Heritage. But, I was not sure I would like the Heritage, so I kept the Sporty for a couple months, just to be safe.

Well, after 2-months, it was not a hard decision. Sold the Sporty which I really loved.

If you are going to do more than ride around town, and short day trips, you will appreciate the Softail.

Good Luck, and ride safe.

If you decide on a newer model used bike, and it's the Breakout, hit me up I have a 2013 w 1400 miles for sale that I will hook you up with and save you a ton of $$$ over dealer. Good luck shopping and like others said have fun with it, you won't be disappointed.

If you want to buy used, take your time and shop around! I am on my second used Harley. First one was an 06 Dyna Low Rider that I rode for three years and I just bought a 10 Heritage Softail Classic. I got great deals on both of them by taking my time and shopping around. I bought both from individuals. There are lots of Harleys sitting in garages with very few miles on them.

Good Luck!
