So I've read everything on here about this and I just want to make sure I'm right. I have an 08 deluxe. I want to put a 21 up front till I can afford a full set of far spokes and hopefully we tire situation will change. So if I get a flower 21x2.15 of a softail dyna or whatever as long as it's a 25mm which I believe my axle and bearings are I can use my stock spacers and it will bolt right up except it needs to be retrued a 1/4 inch to be center or just run it that way. Am I correct looking for a cheap ebay wheel to hold me over.
Yes thats pretty much about it. I would try to stick with a 21 " from a softail though. Try to get the donor wheel from the same year (ex) 2008 nightrain, custom ,standard etc. just to be on the safe side.
Although, I had a 2009 Nightrain wheel on my 2010 Deluxe worked fine except the offset issue .
First 2 pics show the before and the after the offset issue was fixed. The last 3 are just some random shots. It will give you an idea of how its gonna look.
I ran The avon venom mh90 21. I think the metz 90'
-90-21 is a slight bit wider. My friend had the same set up with the Metz side by side you could not tell the difference in width though. I prefer Avon tires.
I have Fat spokes now. But to be honest I always did like that skinny pizza cutter wheel. I miss that look ,although most people don't.

So are not running a front brake now? How did you center the wheel and mount the caliper in the rotor if you are running a brake? Beautiful bike also

Yes I am running a front brake. You can see in the last 3 pics that there is a caliper, rotor and brake line attached.
The rotor lines up in the caliper perfect. The only thing you are moving is the hoop / band of the wheel 1/4 " towards the rotor side. To get it centered in the fender. Everything else is untouched and unchanged (rotor, hub etc.)
Basically they put the wheel on a truing stand, loosen the spokes, move the hoop / band (which is the outer part of the wheel only, that the tire gets mounted to) 1/4 " toward the rotor side. Tru and retighten the spokes and your done.
Is that an 18" rear Malingerer?? It looks really good. Thanks for the info too, do you still have that skinny 21 sitting around?? Also what tires are you running for the whitewalls? DB??

Yes, 18 x 4.25 rear , 21x3.50 front ridewrights, with DB tires WWW. Sorry I sold the wheel to a forum member about 2 yrs ago
So I'll ask you Malingerer since I'm curios to everyone who's using DB tires. What are you planning on doing about new tires once yours are worn out? Vee??
