yeah, i'm a headphones guy too. but i always watch my mirrors for cops just in case. got a pair of these when i bought my breakout and i've been loving them ever since.
bluetooth, so no wires. low profile so it fits in the helmet nicely, and they are a pretty damn good sound too. all in all very happy with them.
I agree brother, I have been a headphone guy for 16 plus years of riding. But there is also a plus of being able to hear ambient noise around you not just necessarily see behind you. Such as car horns, car skidding, sirens at intersections that are cross traffic and not just behind you, and most importantly, girls trying to talk to you as your riding lol! Im not trying to make this a speaker system vs headphone thread cuz as far as sound is concerned, headphones will always win due to lack of wind drag. But there are options out there that will suit each person. Im sure there are some people who rather hear the rumble of the engine and note from the exhuast as opposed to music. To each their own. As long as your rolling along and enjoying the ride, thats what its about.
I want to get this thread going again for any people out there that got started on a custom
sound system of their own. Just wanted to see some end results and thoughts of the system. Also maybe some advice and pointers to others who may want to partake on this endeavor. I have received numerous pms and emails from other members about questions and advice for their own setup. I also believe another member started a writeup for items needed and his experience to share with others. But overall just checking in to see if their are other ideas out there to help others out.
Here you go http://www.jpcycles.com/product/3100502 Its just the headlight shell and trim ring so you don't have to pay for the headlamp itself. Save some cash for an item that isn't going to be used.
I got the same Amp and the same tool box and I cant put the amp in the tool box.. did you cut something ?

Have had a little Hog Tunes Amp and Kicker Fairing Speakers in now for 4 + years and lately the right Kicker has been sounding "fuzzy and or blown" not sure yet if the cone is separating or what?
Thinking about going with this upgrade to work with the existing stock head HK unit.
Like having my handle-bar controls.
Biketronics Titan II 180 Amp & 7.1 Speaker Package
$630
Wouldn't you know, just when I was contemplating this upgrade my Central Air Unit compressor froze up and now I have to spend $1100 on a new unit.
I guess the audio upgrade can wait a bit.
I have ALWAYS gone with these guys for my bike.
Great products and AMAZING customer service... not to be mistaken for cycle sounds ( different company) And I mount them on top of my engine guards. Withthe 400w system, and they have bigger ones, I can sing along screaming down I-25 doing 85mph with a 3/4 lid!
