I have the risers bolted on as tight as I can and I am getting about 3/4" of play in either direction measuring from the top of the bars. I thought poly bushings took away all the play? Is this normal? I just finished the install today and I'm not sure if I want to even try riding it like this until I make sure.
Risers bolts are to be tq'd per specs. I think 35 ft lbs. Check manual. 3/4" may not be that bad depending on how hard you are pushing and pulling and since 14" carlinis are more like 15-16" bars from what I read. My Heritage bars move with polys.

I had that happen with some I bought from them as well. Way too much slop for me even after torquing them down. I double checked the model number and contacted ds. They said they were the right bushings but I could return them if I wanted.
With the postage it wasn't worth the aggravation so threw them away and put the oems back on. Tight as could be.

Just took a ride around town. I definitely don't like the feeling of these Drag Specialties poly bushings. They feel just like the stock ones. I can feel the bars move back on acceleration and move forward when I brake. That's way too much play. I'll probably go with the Alloy Art Gooden Tite since they seem to get a lot of good feedback.
I got the AA bushings with the recessed bolts. They're much tighter than the OEM bushings. I still get a little movement if I push and pull on the bars, but not while riding. The thing I liked best about these is they hid the ugly bolt heads from under the triple tree.
