Just received my Apes from Hill Country Customs, for my 2012 Deluxe. They gave me the set of wires that had canbus connectors already on them. How do I get the wires with connectors through the inside of my bars? There has to be something I am missing here...I thought they would send wires that I would solder together but I guess you can't with the new canbus system?
Am I just to disconnect the wires at my hand controls and that's what I need to feed through my new bars and the extension they have me just extends the wire length under the tank?
I know I sound like an idiot but hopefully someone has done this on a 2012 with the canbus system..
The stock wires from the controls should make it through the bars and out the bottom. Then you plug the extensions between them and the plugs under the tank. Otherwise, plug the extensions in before you pull them through the bars. They should go through with the plugs on and intact. If they don't, you can always pull the pins out of the connectors and feed them through like that.
