The pictures and instructions are exactly the same so what makes them different?
The reason I ask is I have the opportunity to buy a set of Part # 62823-06C for really cheap but want to make sure they would fit. If it has something to do with the plug on the fuel gauge not working, that is fine because I was going to leave it unplugged anyway. I just want the flush mount look and I have a fuel gauge on my tach/speedo combo.
I am not certain why they are different, however if I were to take a guess, I would say it is due to the pigtail ends on the fuel gauge being different. Possibly give you local HD dealer a call to see if they know. I know my dealer always has the flush mounts in stock on the parts showroom floor, maybe thay can open them up for you and take a quick look.
if i had to guess softail and touring might possible be two different sizes of gauge and fuel cap inlet and as far as the fuel gauge probably has different connections

Does anyone know if the fuuel gauge on the speedo/tach combo would stil, work even if I didnt have the fuel gauge on the tank plugged in?
I found another flush mount set for an 08 and up softail....of course, mine is an 07. I cant imagine why it wouldnt fit other than the plug in being different.
