Default Blackline wider front tire

Hi all, I am looking at fitting a wider profile 21" tire to the stock Blackline rim and asking if anyone has fitted one?

I am looking at a 120 width instead of the skinny 90. Hopefully it will be a smoother ride and less skittery. It looks like it should fit without having to change the fender, anyone fitted one can confirm?

Thanks in advance!

What's on a Breakout? I know they're wider but I'm not sure of the size. And I'd think you'd have to change the fender with a wider tire. There's not a lot of extra room with the one that's on there.

Skittery???

I put a 120 on mine and love the ride, you WILL have to change the fender and you WILL have to change your rim from stock, you are not going to want to put anything but stock width on the stock rim.

I put the Breakout front wheel on my 2008 Nightrain.

Just waiting for my front fender delivery to complete the MOD.

Thanks for the replies all! I take it that it's just not possible to fit anything wider on the stock rim then? If that's the case I may have to wait to replace the fender and rim. Any ideas for the replacement fender?

There is nothing special about the forks on the Blackline. Most all Softail fenders will be interchangeable. Just Google search fenders for a Softail, there are many out there. Most will tell you what size wheel/tire they are designed to fit. You will want a 3" or 3.5" wide wheel when you put a 120 tire on the front.

I think you should look at the tire itself....the stock Harley tires cause most of the "Skittery" issues...These tires have a center tread that causes the issue...I switch to night dragons on 2 bikes and they both have been better

Thanks for the replies all! I may look at getting a better replacement tire than the stock Harley one first as Scudda suggests and then if it's not a better ride aim for a wider one. Much appreciated!

When I replaced the front on my Blackline I went with a Michelin Commander II 90/90/21. It was slightly wider than the stock tire, and rode much better. It did not try to grab all the lines in the road like the stock tire.
