I thought that as a Harley community we could start a thread posting the correct spec on the capacities of fluids for our bikes...And since there is NO website for HD models that will give owners the correct specs on these capacities regarding fluids (even the dealer has steered me wrong), I figured this would be helpful if we start our own to help out those who do not have manual handy (to avoid future headaches, like I am having right now). So, if you have a manual and would like to share the correct specs on engine oil, trans, & primary capacities, please follow below:

To all the members who replied one quart in the primary that's correct if you have a 96 cubic inch the 88 is taking the 26 ounces like one other member mentioned. Also my oil change with filter never took 3 quarts on a change it takes 2.8 quarts and it's full. Proper way to change oil is to take the bike for a ride get it good and hot drain oil and remove filter replace filter first adding some oil to the filter befor installing. I add 2.8 quarts of oil counting what has gone into the filter. then it goes for another ride to get it hot again I come back and check the oil it's right on the mark. If I put three quarts of oil in I will be blowing oil out the breather. When harley went to the 96 ci the primary went to a quart of oil. Most of the answers were correct but no one mentioned the difference in which engine you had check that San jaun Ron did post the difference just before my post
If you own a bike you need the manual to it as much as you need a set of keys for it. I scavenge so mine is always more and I use the 24 once and the 26 once fluid level as well.
3 qrts oil unless you scavenge the system which I do so I get 4, 1qrt each primary and trans
This and I'll add that I'm using SYN3 in all holes. Why would I use another brand of oil that does NOT have the correct API designation as suggested by manufacturer?
