Are these better than LEDs?..., Im saving to upgrade mine… so far the HD Daymaker LED headlamp is the one that I like…how much are the HIDs? $319 for the Daymaker...
I was going with the HD Daymaker and instead I decided to go this route. One of my buddies just installed the HID Headlight and the LED passing lamps, from Socalmotogear.com, and said they are one of the best things he ever did to his sled. He compared his to a guy that had the Daymaker on his RK and said its not even close in light out put. Said the HID's put out FAR more light than the Daymaker and its in a wide spectrum also.
Said he has no issues with heat at all and its 100% Plug and play. Said it takes longer to re-install his chrome visor rings than it did installing the HID and Led bulbs.
So, I placed a order this evening and hopefully things will work out.

4300k produces the most visible light output, anything higher is just color change, 5000-8000 bluish, 8000+ purplish, 12000+ UV scale aka you tryin to tan sucka?. Below 4300, the color starts to turn yellowish, 3000k produces a nice yellow for fog light use.

I ordered a kit, got it, but for some reason even though I ordered bi xenon, I couldn't get it to do both hi and low. The seller was very good with troubleshooting and has even sent me another "control" cable. In the meantime though I was able to score a used new model Daymaker off of the forum. I am sure the kit is fine. This is the kit with the relay also. Worst cast scenario is you get a super bright low beam. Mine is the 5000k one, so no blue.
The Daymaker is literally night and day different from the stock Halogen on my Train.
I have a HID kit, brand new here with extension cables if anyone is interested. I paid $60 for it without the extra cables. If anyone is interested, I will sell it for $50 shipped.
I also didn't like having to mess with the ballast in my 5 3/4 bucket.
I had them in my old bike and loved them. Bought a kit for my Breakout because I read up here it would all fit inside the headlight. Got the kit in the mail and there's way, to much stuff to get it all in there.
