I bought a 13 softail slim this winter and was finally able to take it for my first decent ride yesterday. I swapped rides with my dad for a bit and we both said the same thing...the stock softail slim seat is awful! So anyways, i am debating between the Danny gray buttcrack solo or the mustang wide tripper solo. Any comments on seat position, comfort, etc are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
I had my stock seat reworked. I had 1.5" of the old padding removed and replaced it with 1" of gelfoam then had it refinished to match the paint. I started a thread a while back now called Custom seats/seat **** if I remember correctly. I am going to throw a picture in that shows my bars but you can see the seat too. I am SO glad I went this route. I seen so many guys go 2, 3 seats before they found what they wanted. I got this right first time out of the gate. I was able to stop in to follow the construction and to make changes if needed. Good luck and keep us posted. I followed seat threads for nearly two years before I committed .1393890_10200109319496057_206881228_n[1].jpg
I got a C&C Seats Solo with the addon passenger pillion. The price was great and the customization options were also. The seat fit the bike and my butt perfectly. Very comfortable, even on long rides. Another thing is that when I had a lot of questions, they were patient and answered mine, actually steering me away from higher priced options to make sure I got the best options for what I need.

I have the wide tripper solo. It's a Mustang so comfort is good. Some have said it moved them forward but I didn't really notice any change in seating position.

I can only speak for the stock FLS brick seat and the Mustang solo I now have on.
I've had Mustang seats on my last 5 bike, never leave home without one, great product.
