I did try the other LEDs with the other lenses, this one lens is just made a bit different. The other LED bulbs to go into the other lenses without an issue, even the LED shown here. It's that this glass lens seems to be cut different. The inside seems to curve earlier which limits it's depth. I even tried grinding the sides on the inside of the lens down some. This is when I realized it's wasnt the width of the lens but the depth being limited by the curve.

I ended up using the original plastic lens covers on the front which worked great. I figure I'll order another set of the amber lenses and see what happens. I'm guessing one of the two I get will work.

Got my Custom Dynamics LEDs and Auto Gem smoked lenses today. Got them installed, and they a) fit great, b) are a lot brighter than the stock bulb, c) are actually a little more visible from the side than the plastic lenses are, and d) look awesome.

Dutch, I don't know where you ordered from, or which version of the LEDs you're getting. At first, I thought for absolute certain that I had either received or ordered the wrong set from J&P. Double-checked the part number, my order number, and their catalog, and I did get what they said would fit. I'm not certain their catalog (website, exact fitment for '13 Slim) was correct - I had some boards that were attached to my LED sets that should have fit a flat style signal housing like on my Road King instead of a bullet style like is on the Slim. They looked like this:

... instead of this:

Those extra boards did separate, leaving me with the correct parts. I just put the light face down on a flat surface, and pushed on the board until it split the double-sided gasket that held them in place. Had to clean up a little residue after, but it was all good.

As for installation, that was pretty simple. I didn't even have to doctor up the gasket. What was helpful was to run a wet finger around the O-ring gasket on the lenses, and twist then into place. Took a little bit of gentle persuasion, but they went on neatly. Did check that the LEDs would fit inside the lenses first, of course, and all was fine there - tight fit, but fine.

One more step towards turning the beast into what I have envisioned. Neat collision of old school lenses and high-tech LEDs...

Just a quick update. I did receive a new pair of lenses since one of the first pair I had didn't fit the LED light. The new set fit just fine so I'm just going to assume that since the gem lights are glass they might have slight variations.

Yea, they are glass and therefore are not the same accross the board, but close. I did test fits on each before I installed...worked out well.
