Default Heritage bags on a Fatboy

The saddle bags I have on my 2011 Fatboy are designed shorter because of the pipe configuration. I recently changed my pipes to a lower style and would like to go to a bag like what is on the Heritage. Will the same mounting hardware from the Heritage work on my Fatboy?

What pipes did you install?

Vance and Hines long shots. They both route below the passenger floorboards.

Harley sells a Saddlebag Hardware Kit for the Heritage bags, P/N 79304-06 that should fit your bike. You may want to call your dealer and double check.

If you have a 2011 Harley Parts Manual, you'll see that the Frame Rails have different part numbers for Fatboy's and Heritage's. The only difference is that the saddlebag mounting points are different between the two models and the frame rails are drilled differently. Heritage Bags can be mounted on a Fatboy by drilling the appropriate mounting hole in the frame rails. This is a very simple modification. I just put a set on my FB a couple months age.

Notes:
(1) You may need to relocate your turn signals.
(2) If you're looking for bags on Ebay be aware that Harley has produced 4 different styles of Heritage bags.
EVO's = 1990 - 1999,
Twin Cam = 2000 - 2006
Twin Cam = 2007 - 2008
Twin Cam = 2009 and Newer.

All years of Heritage Twin Cam bags can be mounted onto your 2011 with the correct modifications.

Look into after market bags and quick detach.

You could try the Easy Bracket. For Heritage bags, you would need a HRT-R2. For aftermarket bags, try the ST-L1. http://greatbikegear.com
