I am putting a stage 1 kit on my 2012 fatboy lo. I just needed some info on air filters. I found some roland, K&N, DM and Cobra filters that I like the look of. What are some reliable brands? Will I need any special brackets for installation? I'd greatly appreciate any input
By the way, I plan on using vance and hines big Radius, and powervision tuner. Thanks
Once you get away from that restrictive stock air cleaner, just about any aftermarket free-flow air cleaner will perform the same, that is they'll open up the air flow to the point where they give the engine more air than it can even use.
All you're really shopping for it looks...

+1. Just installing a K&N element and drilling a few holes in the air cleaner housing is almost as effective on a stock bike as a complete air cleaner change. I saw this first hand watching a dyno operator at a rally. It was what he was recommending for stock bikes even though he sold air cleaners.

I am going to get a KN unit and open the bottom up. Cheap, about as effective. Difference is I want the round cover..like that bobber look.
