I'm thinking of putting a K-N air cleaner kit on by 2012 Fatboy. I was wondering about rain get in it. I was look a kit # hd 1499
Do they keep most of the rain out ?
Thanks for the input
There is a rain sock for em. I know when I ran mine with no rain sock I had to drop a gear to keep the engine from stalling in a heavy rain. Cylinders were nice and clean when I took it apart though. I run a full cover and a synthetic AC now.
If you keep that #1499 under the stock air cleaner cover, it should be fine. These filters don't do a very good job of stopping dirt though.
The Screaming Eagle filter (which is also washable) probably does a better job. At least you can't see holes in it when you hold it up to the light.
