Will be shortly picking up a 2009 FXSTC which still has the stock mufflers fitted. As they are very quiet, I want to fit something a bit louder so it sounds like a BT should. Don't want it too loud though, as the EPA are pretty tough around where I live, so have been thinking about SE slipons.
I do like the look of the V&H big radius, but think they could be too loud. Anyone have them on their 96B engine, who could comment? Had Cobra speedster swepts on my Vulcan 900 and they put out a loud drone which was obnoxious after about an hour's riding. Different bike but similar design. Thanks in advance
I have big radius on my 2008 FXSTC. Very loud! I added BCT baffles and it was still too loud. Added SmartPartz quiet baffles and the combo is now loud, but not annoying.
I would look at American Custom Exhaust to modify your mufflers if they can, installing their quiet baffles, using your mufflers. Does you ST have the shotgun mufflers or the staggered? You can buy/modify your mufflers if you have the staggered, I dont think they modify the shotgun set up. Shipping back and forth to down under may be too expensive.
