i have a 2011 fatboy lo and i want to change my floorboards to forward controls. is there anyway to modify the existing parts to just add pegs? or a less expensive way than ordering a set of controls that cost 700+ bucks? i heard that you could use a set off the FX models? is there any truth to that? any input on this would be very helpful?
yes, you can change your floorboards over to forward controls with some fxst brackets. I actually did the opposite and put floorboards on my night train.I have a pair of fxst brackets that I might let go of if anyone's interested.

I'd be real interested in those brackets. What color are they? Any pics you could send would be helpful. How much are you looking to get for them? Let me know.
Anyone know of a write up for this conversion? I am interested, especially if it just means swapping out a bracket and not the entire forward control assembly.
I don't know of any write-ups, but it really is just as simple as swapping out your floorboard brackets for a set of fxst brackets. to do a complete conversion you will need the fxst brackets, shifter, and brake pedal. something like this will have everything you need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/STOCK-00-to-...08491a&vxp=mtr
p.s.
I used my stock fxst brake pedal and shifter with my flst brackets, so if you wanted to you could probably use your stock flst brake pedal and shifter(just might look kinda silly).
