Great Thread!! Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. My LRS re-curve arrives for my Heritage tomorrow. I got the 18" with light tint and with a custom 100th anniversary graphic. Can't wait to see it and try it.
LRS has been great up to this point. James took great care of everything.
I just bought a replacement shield from our sponser LRS. I un-did all the bolts on the stock windshield, I got the fork mounting brackets off just fine. Here my question - the metal bracket to the lexan, it looks like its glued or taped on and theres no way this is coming off.
* Any ideas?
* ANyone know where I can find the replacement metal for the shield only and ill use the existing brackets
THANKS!
Not to discount all the methods with glue guns and WD40 and such, but this is easy.
Just flatten the lexan screen out. When it flexes the metal cross bars will pop right off. Takes about a second.
I just pulled mine loose when I replaced mine, put 1 small bend in it but got it right out. I had to do it twice since the 16" LRS let way too much wind over and the wife was not happy so had to buy a 20" LRS and put it on and now she is all good. I definately like the look of the light tint also.
I would love to be able find a set of used quick detach brackets so that I can install them on the 16" for when I do ride solo.
