My Breakout with cams, exhaust..blah blah..is by FAR the slowest bike I've ever owned.

I also ride it more than any bike I've ever owned and enjoy it more.

Go figure.

with your air cleaner off, hold your throttle wide open and see if the throttle body is opening all the way. P O of my bike changed out the grips and butterfly was only opening about 80%.

As a former VMax owner most everything, including my Harley, seems slow to me. My HD is fairly quick, for a Harley, but sometimes I do miss the acceleration of the VMax. But my Harley is a better all around motorcycle for the type of riding I do. I didn’t buy because it was fast, yet it seems like I’m always going faster than everyone else around me and am always having to hold it back to keep myself out of trouble. Fact is, I only know one Harley rider (fellow forum member Nomadmax) that I struggle to keep up with. That guy would be fast on any motorcycle. Everybody else I ride with is always telling me to slow down. I guess that means my Harley is plenty fast for me. If I want something faster I’ll buy another VMax.
