No worries .... Let us know it it worked out for ya .... I am still at work until 1:15 am so my long night is just beginning ... lol running out of things to google here ....
Ok, turned the switch and it almost fell off in my hand.
The bad part is this, if you tighten it down good, you can't get the key to lock the ignition. If you loosen it a bit, the key will lock, but I am sure it will back out eventually.
I wonder if I should loctite it, just barely snug, but loose enough to get key in and lock?

I used BLUE Loctite on mine. Good for 3000 miles so far.

Told you!!!, play with it, loctite but loosen until key turns should be ok, took me three times to find sweet spot that is tight but key will turn. put Loctite on first.

...don't tighten too tight - it will put the switch in a bind and then its hard to turn with the key to lock it up. Now ask me how I know
Draggin' this thread back from the dead...
OK, how'd you fix it? Before taking off this morning, I discovered that the lever on my bike's ignition switch was sliding off. I tightened up the set screw and took off ... without checking to see if I could still lock the ignition. Well, I got to where I was going and then I discovered that I could not lock the ignition any more.
So I get back home and even with the stupid lever off the switch I can't lock the damn ignition.
I think I might've f'd the switch up completely.

When mine fell off, I put a new one on and I guess it's finicky about the torque you use on it or how close the switch is to the coil
Definitely remove the screw and add some blue loctite! I didn't and thats why mine fell off.
I don't use mine at all, it is always locked in the off position, I only use the switch on the handlebar, my dealer programed it for me so as long as the fob is with you it will turn the ignition on.

That's cool! You've got no worries then. I don't have that option, no security system...
