Default Back in the saddle...

I threw away the crutches, strapped on an ace bandage and my lace up boots, and took the scoot out for an 80 mile jaunt today. It was cold for North Texas (low 50s) this time of year, but it was nice to get out and ride. I did take advantage of my down time by adding the frenched headlight ring(a must have if you are not going with the bigger nacelle on the fatboy) and I also added the chrome speedo visor. Both very easy installs but was $60 well spent. I still have a limp, but seem to get around pretty good at 70mph.

Good to hear you are out and about again!!! I went out yesterday and it was not to bad but cold for north Texas. I went out this morning to HD to have a new rear tire put on and it started snowing on me. I can now say I have ridden in sun, rain, and snow!!! The worst thing about the trip was HD got me right in and it still took 1.5 hours to install the new tire... Next time I will drop the bike off and come back later...

An hour and half to do a tire, Softail Bob? WOW! I wouldn't think it would take that long, particularly if they got you in right away. As for you WARG...glad to hear you're up and about again. Here I sit with a four day weekend to kill, and the weather just keeps getting colder and colder!! We're dreaming of 50F up this way. It is still cold enough around here this weekend, that there is actually a windchill factor. So much for Global Warming! Seems everyone from Texas to Alberta is freezing their holes off! Still, a chilly ride is better than no ride at all![8D]

Kato - They still charged me the quoted price of $220 but they said that my axle covers and the shotgun exhaust had to come off to pull the tire and that would take a little longer. Warg and I had 80 deg weather to ride in last weekend and now it's snowing this weekend..lol... Only in Texas..lol...
