Did the softail custom not come with the alarm as standard equipment?, I know the softail standard didn't , but if not what would be the point of spending extra for the Custom?, back in the day.
I believe the fxstc comes with security but the alarm is additional. The custom comes with more chrome and blacked out engine. There is a cheeper alternative to the factory alarm. Radio Shack sells a high decibel alarm which can be wired in same as the factory one for about $6 just as loud. There is a thread here some were as to which one to buy I cant remember its been a couple of years since I installed it .
I don't think any HDs came with the alarm as standard equipment (don't know about touring). It was an option.
The difference from the standard, nightrain & custom, one had barely any chrome, one was black and one had lots of chrome with different seats and handle bars.. Same frame, fenders, wheel sizes & engine.
I went with the Standard even though it looks mostly like a Custom now.
