I would like to buy some quick detach sabblebags the I can throw on the Fatty if I'm traveling longer distances. I really dont care for the looks of the bags Harley sells for the Fatty, but do like the bags that come on the Heritage's.
The catalog says they will not fit Fatboys, but it looks to me that the only thing that would be in the way is the stock exhaust. My bike has the Screaming Eagles staggered duals soI believe it would clear. Anybody try this before?
Yep the turn signals will needa relocation kit and with that if you take the bags off the lights will look goofy. However you may want to look at the heritage springer bags. That bike has its signal lights in the same location as the fatboy and the bags are big. They would look good, just my two cents worth. Good luck.
The only thing stopping me from getting tall bags is the stock exhaust. If you got that problem licked you should be able to put the Heritage bags on. I don't know for sure but I don't see why not.

Since you already have the lower pipes all you would have to do is change the turn signals. If it were me I would not go with the Heritage signals as they will not look too good with the bags off. But, if you use the signal kit that is similar to the one used on the Street Glide you will have th look, with or without the bags on.
Yes on both tun signal relocation and lower pipes. I used the Softtail Deluxe turn signals and a V&H Propipe. I have a set of Heritage bags but the strut that attatches behind the passeger peg is snapped off. I'm waiting to hear from the dealership if the factory will repair it.
