Default 2014 FLTSC no Neutral

I searched this forum and nothing. Anyone know about a problem. N is supposed to be between 1 and 2 gear. I have tried even with my hands cannot manipulate the shifter into neutral. Only has 35 miles, but the dealer is 112 miles away, and wanted to wait until the first service to make the trip.

I wonder if your clutch is disengaging fully when you pull the lever in. if it is dragging slightly that can make it very challenging when trying to find neutral. Perhaps the cable has stretched with initial use???

FWIW, when I first got my Heritage, it was really hard to find neutral, especially when down-shifting. As everything broke in (including me) I found going down to 1st, while the engine is idling and just lightly tapping my heal, it would go in. Saying that it does seem pretty touchy.

GL, and enjoy your Heritage.

Ditto...i had this happen to my bike. Clutch needed adjustment. Hope it is that easy for you. Ride safe.

Have a 2014 FatBoy, same tranny etc as you. I always found it easier to shift into first then tap it up to neutral, hard to think your clutch would need adjusting on a new bike but possible I'd guess

I think it is a design thing. I cannot get it in neutral even with my hand. I can wait until the first service. Minor problem.
Thanks for the help. Was pretty sure it was not just me. Will ride 50 miles or so tonight and see if that helps.

Mine is somewhat difficult to find too and I have 50K miles on it. It's largely clutch related. Just put it in neutral when you stop the engine. You still have to pull the clutch in. When coming from 1st the light tap does work...sometimes.

I am going with this too, but every new Harley I have bought has issues finding neutral for the first 1000 miles or so.
