Default Rear Signals

Need a little help/suggestions here. 2011 FLSTN, Am I wrong in assuming that the rear signals are also running lights. At least I thought they were. I have noticed a possible issue. My left turn signal indicator on the dash quit working and while looking things over I noticed that the rear signals no longer stay on as running lights. The front signals stay on as running/marker lights but not the rear. The rear markers still work as brake lights when the front and rear brakes are applied and both still work as turn signals. They just don't stay on all the time for running lights. Anyone have any insight into this.

They don't stay on all the time like the fronts. At least that's the way it is on my Heritage.

Sounds like your bike has the rear turn signal adapter kit and it's gone bad. What you describe is similar to what happened to me (twice) and it was the adapter kit..

Yes to this. Exact same thing happened to my friend. Side note:
I asked a state cop and he said that the rear turn signals are running lights if they're red. If they're Amber then they are turn only.

Thanks for the replies guys. They are red so I guess I need to dig a little deeper into the issue and see about testing or replacing the module.

Try a new bulb first. That was a problem I had.

Unforytunately there is no repairing the module. You can only replace it. Its under the seat and it's a little rectangle box with two short harnesses coming out. Just unplug and replace or unplug and plug the main harness back together.
