Question Question on rear turn signals

Greetings all,

2005 Ultra and I just installed new amber lens and clear bulbs front and rear for the turn signals. I never paid attention before, but when I turned it on to check if all the bulbs worked, the rear lamps did not light. Fronts did but not the rear. Tried both signals and they worked fine front and rear. Do the rear lamps only operate when the turn signal is on?

Thanks

That is normal; the rear signal lights only come on when the signals are on.
The MOCO makes a kit that will make the rear turn signals work as running lights, and come on with the brakes for around $70. It is plug an play, and can be installed in a couple minutes. It also comes with a set of red lenses as well. For my money, this was the best security update per $ available. The back of my bike is way more visible now, and 3 lights come on with the brakes which is priceless with a cage behind you. And of course if the signals are on, then that light blinks while the other two light up as brake lights.

Yep, your front signals also act as running/marker lights, but the rear signals don't (without added parts). You're good.

The rear are turn lights only not running lights, the front are both. Rear bulb #1156 is a single contact for one function only, front bulb #1157 is a double contact for two functions. My 07 ultra is the same way.
