Did a bone head thing, purchased the Harley low profile chrome fuel tank console (part number:71208-07) opened the box, read the directions, and saw it only fits to 2010 softail deluxes... Nothing was installed just opened then re-sealed. All parts and pieces are there. $250 I'll pay for shipping.. Pay pal, cash in person, 317-371-3151 -paul
Fits 00-10 SoftailŽ models (except FXSTD, FXCW/C, FLSTSB and models equipped with a Color Shop Stretched Fuel Tank). Will not fit with Brawler, Stripper, SidekickŽ, SidekickŽ Custom or Rally Runner seats or with Skull Fuel Cap P/N 75097-05.
Your asking price is fair for a new one, but most people here will try to get a good saving.. alas.. you can try to drill that extra hole in there and plug the old one, just do a search I remember seeing someone trying that. I believe this was the only difference between earlier and later models.
God.. my 2001 bike is now 'earlier'.. I must be getting old
This would look nice on my 09 Heritage, however the fitment guide states doesn't fit with combo tach/speedo kit so I guess that makes my decision not to deal an easy one.
I was wondering if it wasn't installed why can't you return it for at least store credit?
@bluraven I just have no need for the in store credit.. Pretty much have bought everything want and installed on the bike already.
@klf33 it fits perfectly on my softail deluxe.. Only issue if the info "lights" part. Where it lights up for your turn signals, neutral, low fuel... Underneath the center console that little group of led lights that light up those emblems, it's hard wired to the wiring harness. The Harley low pro tank console has new lights with a plug. There's no way of unplugging the factory to plug in the aftermarket but everything with the factory speedo gauage works and fits fine
