Deuce,

I did ask about the clutch cable. Like how you routed it (from what I see in the pictures it went down thru the hole in the upper clamp). Like the clean look. Now if only we didn't have to have those cables to clutter the front end.

Go and check out www.hogpro.com
They have some nice 200 kits that will tuck nicely under the Deuce
fender. And yes, the extra 20mm does look better. I have an Avon
187mm and there is still a noticable difference between it and a 200.
(13 x 0.039 = 0.507") or (20 x 0.039 = 0.78")

hey CC can you list the things done to your bike or pm with with them ?

My ride is going to end up looking like yours alot. One question tho.....I was thinking of having the tins painted with that super flat black old school stuff, but I am not sure if i can get a graphic on it.

CC, as for the 200 kit, is that tiny bit worth it ? since I can get a 180 to fit ? I did look at the heartland kits, they just seem a bit pricey and I would still have to buy a new rim. I would like to keep the mods cheap as possible at first since I am going to try and pay cash for the bike. I could step back a year or two and not get a 2007, but I just figured for 15, it would be a good deal.

OH, I would like to say that there is no way a stock looking bagger can beat either of your bikes, I would be proud to ride beside either of you.

DD
Happy thanksgiving to you man. How's the back treating you?

NumberOne
Many, many more nice Deuces on this website. DD,Voodoo,
Lobo, Pro1955, FXSTDau, just to name a few. Just remember
this. "You need to slam the rear end". It immediatelychanges the
hole attitude of the bike.

WOOOOOOHOOOOO GUESS WHO JUST GOT A 07 DEUCE WITH 491 MILES ON HER FOR 15K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I could even call the guy and say yes, he came into my office. He did not know who I was, since a friend did the mediating on the purchase. "Joe" came in wanting to speak with a coworker. So I turned around and asked for his last name. Needless to say, my eyes were tearing up........If any of you guys have any mods your willing to part with, send me a PM.

DD and CC I will humble myself and try to make her a work of art like your two bikes are.

Hello everyone, I've been reading the posts on this site for a couple of months, however, this is the first time I've posted myself. I purchased a 07' Deuce a couple of months ago after finding out it was being discontinued, and, although I've only seen pics, I don't know that I care much for the Rocker. I've always liked the Deuce, and when I walked in the showroom and seen one Suede Blue over Vivid Black, had to have it. Crazy Canuck, your bike is bitchin', when it was up for bike of the month I did vote for you. DD, yours too, awesome machine. I work for a company that builds hot rods, and I've built a couple of my own, and know how much work and cash it takes. This is my first Harley, and I'm a little nervous to work on it myself at this point, I have done some simple mods though. I do agree, it has to be lowered in the rear (being a hot rodder, everything has to be lower). What would you guys suggest? Cheaper always seems to cost more, so, not the cheap route, the best route other then air bags.

Numberone, you got a great deal, that guy must have been desperate to sell that bike for $15k.

Oh, and I would put pics of mine up, but, I've been unsuccessful to this point, and I have read all of the instructions.

Actually the guy works for the same company I do here in FL. I think he paid cash for it about 6 months ago and has only put 491 miles on her. He wanted 16.5, but I made a offer and just waited him out.
The basics for mods I see at this point are : lowering kit, 200 kit, pipes, stage 1 maybe a tuner, and handle bars with riser for that clean look. Given what you can do with the bike, going DD's way or CC's way can still be achieved with the above mods. DD has a bike that is simply stunning and classic, he has very good taste. CC's bike has that mean bad axx look to it, and all business.

Grump these are the mods I am looking at atm

Arlen ness lowering kit 60 this just changes the height and can be put back to stock height.(its just a bolt)
heartland 200 kit 1800 may do a 180 at first until i decide for sure
VH black short shots 700
stage 1
drag bars with risers ???
rear fender maybe

The biggest thing I see that will make your bike stand out are handle bars, lowering, and pipes. Then once you determine what route you are going to take, it will gain more definition. I found a guy that will paint me tins for 1k up north any way you want and the air brushing looks good. The hardest thing I will have to purchase are wheels, those are alot of money which I will have a hard time spending. Stick with those mods to see where you want to go, but have a good mechanic to them. I used to race also and know what happens when you try and cheat a part.

Right now I have a Jeep Rubicon with alot of mods on it, and I have spared nothing to get it how I want, but there are no rocks to climb here in FL so I am going to change me hobby. Having a jeep is a way of life, while they are not for everyone, there is nothing like them. Driving a Harley puts you in the club also....havent you noticed the waves you get ??? jeepers get them also, even from harley guys lol. Spare nothing when you mod your bike, but be smart andpatient, when you do spend. If you take the time to reads DD's posts, he has done alot of low buck mods and well as others here.

I am sry for hijacking this thread a bit, but I knew I wanted a Deuce and wanted to keep this in the family. No other HD has that long narrow sexy look to her.
