The tins were painted that way. It is 4 base coats with 3 clear coats, sanded down in certain areas to give the worn or distressed look. Here are a few more pics. Thanks for the comment. Attachment 193727
Hey bud. LOVE the Bones. I would love to know if you had to do any modifying to those tank emblems in order to install them. My local dealer is currently trying to install a set on mine but they are telling me it can't be done because they are too straight and wont fit the curved Crossbones tank. Any advice you have would be appreciated.
Decided to add the Shadetree Fabrications battery cover for the underseat area to close the gap in the back. Love it. Fits like a glove and is much cleaner. The fiberglass with the black gloss finish goes better with the bike than the matt plastic one HD uses (which had to be cut by the way). Also, his new design is made to allow you to fit the ECM under it for better protection instead of tucking it behind the oil can. Adding a couple of updated pics too.

Bike looks awesome! Not sure where you got those seat springs...but I used the same style on my bike for a while. One snapped in half when I hit a pretty good bump on the freeway at 70 MPH.
