I guess we'll have to take a vote on which day. I know Mrs Live2Ride likes to do rides on Saturday because it gives her the chance to recover before work on Monday. It doesn't matter to me which day we go.
Where is this place? What route do ya'll take to get there?
Maggie Valley NC. in the Blue Ridge mountains off NC. HWY 19
From Charlotte I go south on I85 to SC. exit 92 which is SC. HWY 11 take that west to HWY 276 which you go north on through Brevard NC. across the BRP and then through Waynesville NC. till it dead ends into NC. HWY 19 turn left on HWY 19 and ride into Maggie Valley. Wheels Through Time will be on your right at about the middle of town on HWY 19. From the south Charlotte city limit to Wheels Through Time is about 170 miles.
There are shorter ways to get there but that is the nicest ride up there. I've tried most all ways up there as I'm up there in that area most every weekend all year round on one of my motorcycles!
If any of you want to ride in from here, Johnson City, you can head over on Friday.
As I've stated before there's a Bike's only closed-in garage under the house.
...And we have plenty of room for sleeping arrangements.
Only thing Leticia and I ask is no smoking on our property. (Three young, well behaved, children.)
Salute,
Mark Wisecarver
PS - The ride from this direction is beautiful, following old 351 most of the way there, instead of highways.
It looks like Saturday is best for everyone.. I am going to try to get the dealer to let me pick my bike up on Friday night. They are gonna have it starting Wednesday morning, shouldn't be too difficult for them. Is bike night every Friday? Gimme an excuse to head over there =P
I really like the route through Ceaser's head, but I'm not dead set on it.
Slightly off topic...
Once the riding season cools off how about some old fashioned Archery contests?
We ride with our bows and arrows to a selected location.
Keep it in mind....I've done that for a very long time now and it's loads of fun for the off-riding season.
...Good excuse to ride when it's cold but the roads are clear.
