Great Ride Today
I had a great ride today. Rode out Hwy 11 to the west then north on 76 through Wesminister across the Chatooga River ( I think I saw a few of those "Squeel like a pig" folks. for you Deliverance fans.) and up 441 to Dillard, GA for some fine dining at the Dillard House. (Lots of Bikes there today) . Traveled north through Franklin NC and over 64 to Wayah Bald Road. It is 27 miles of mountain twisties that partially runs beside Nantahalla Lake and ends at the Nantahala River on US 19. If you go over to the Dragon or Cherohala, you should make this part of your trip. Only a few miles away. Any way we watched the guys & gals shoot rapids on Nantahalla for about 30 minutes and headed down the mountain on the Smoky Moutains Expressway. A short detour through Cherokee and headed home. Got home with 325 additional miles on the bike. Temps ranged from low 70's to low 80's. What a great day of riding.

I thought about you. We were sitting beside the Nantahalla River after running Wayah Bald Road. There was some loose gravel in one of the turns and my buddies rear tire broke loose. He was still pale when we got to the stop sign. I related your accident to him. That is a great ride. A good loaction to find a room and run all the great rides in that area. Of course it is near the Dragon and Cherohala. But 129 from Robinsville up to the Dragon is a good ride, as well as 28 by Fontanna Dam. We got to get you back on two wheels. You are missing some great riding weather. I guess we will wait till fall to get you back on the road. Ribs don't heat too fast. I broke a few in a truck wreck years ago. I would hate to do that now with some extra years on me.
