Wife and I are getting ready to leave the house in just a few. Don't know where we are headed but this will make the 3rd year in a row to ride on Jan. 1. Going to meet my sister and brothernlaw for our now annual Jan. 1. ride. Looks like its going to be a good day to ride. Rain just moved out, waiting on the roads to dry a bit, then we're off. Wish all could enjoy some of this Carolina weather today.

I'm disappointed in you Rusty , you didn't even invite me and
the wife!!! This was her first day to be able to ride since the
middle of Oct. 2006..

Looks like you guys had a great ride!

The wife and I rode all over the NC. mountains Jan. 1st 2007.

We left the house in the morning thinking we were going to get to
ride at least half the day in the pouring rain as that was the forcast.

(we love to ride in the rain, especially in the mountains)

We left out in the pouring rain but it only lasted about 120 miles [:@]
I know the weather men can't hit their azzwith there own hands
but we were hoping to ride most all day in the rain.

The rest of our 500 mile day was wonderful even if it was sunny
the rest of the day. We saw lots of beautiful scenery you don't
get to see in the summer due to the tree leaves. We stopped at
White Water Falls ( Thanks Rusty ) and a few other real
nice places as well.

Marcia enjoyed her first day off since midOct. she said it
could have been a bit betterhad it rained all day but she'd
take it any way she could get it! Working retail has it's
down side mid Oct. thru mid Jan. but before and after that
she can ride all she wants!

We are off to a 500 mile start to 2007 after a 70,000+ mile
2006.. We both don't expect to hit 50,000 miles for 2007
as the Ultra has slowed our riding days down some which is
more a good thing then a bad thing if ya know what I mean..

There's something good to be said for riding a 100 year old
design of a motorcycle, we like our 21st century motorcycles
but you just gota love the rattling, clanking and vibration of an
old motorcycle!!

Ya" All" ride Safe now Ya" Hear"

I got in a little over 1-1/2 hour yesterday after the rain let up, not sure how many miles that comes to.
