Buddy and will be riding out Mid-November from the L.A. area to Chandler for a double or triple bypass at the Heart Attack Grill.
We plan to bee line it on a Friday morning to Chandler, clog our arteries that night, sleep in Saturday then head back halfway to L.A. Saturday late morning/ early afternoon.
Just wondering what interesting places to visit there might be or where it would be cool to stay the night somewhere off the 10 on the way back home if any.
Nothing, nada, zip, chilch, nein, non. Unless you consider getting gas in Quartzite fun. Try the Tilted Kilt, also in Chandler on Warner Rd or the Library on Mill Ave in Tempe.

The only thing to look forward to in that area is. If you wish you may remove your skid lids.
Once in Phoenix area depending on what weekend you pick. GoodGuy Car Show. IHBA Boat drags. What are you in for? We have plenty of Bars if thats your thing.
Maybe a half day ride around Phx? The one thing I would caution you about is heading west in the late afternoon, that sun is a BITCH. I would leave Sun AM to go back.
Just made that trip in July from Corpus Christi, TX to Seal Beach, CA in the cage w/ the famliy. There is nothing of interest on that ride. Just make sure you gas up in AZ (Blythe)before crossing the border going back in to Cali, there's a long stretch w/ no gas.
I will double check the route as I am heading out Wed on the bike to Chandler and the Heart Attack Grill. I will end my 1000mile/24hr Iron Butt Saddle Sore there. Then I'll leave and spend the night on the other side of Phoenix in a Red Roof inn. Then I'll finish up the last 500 miles.
Not really big bar guys but we were just looking for the quirky or unusual roadside; Ghost Towns, World's largest ball of twine, alien corpses on ice, JoJo the dog faced boy. That sort of thing.
My dad was the king of finding funky little roadside stuff on trips back in the day.
Well they have a monument to camel herder Hi Jolly "Hadji Ali" in Quartzite, AZ. He was part of an Army experiment back in the 1850's to use camels in the southwest desert. The experiment ended in the 1860's and the camels were let loose. A feral camel was spotted in the CA desert as late as 1972. You also got the Gen Patton museum in Chiriaco Summit about an hour west of Blythe in CA.
