Got a question for you though?
How thick is the plate? Reason I ask, have one of these to put on the GF's Sporty (09 883L) and the axle is about 3/4" short when I slip on the bracket, well there are no threads to put the bolt back onto.

Hello m8
I did have the same problem with this plate & yes your right once installed it does not leave enough thread on the spindle!!
The way I got over it was to grind enough off the plate bracket so I could then get the nut back on the spindle,it's a bit of a pain but worth the effort I think as it's a nice little plate holder with the Led Eyebrow.
You don't have to put the original washer back on as the plate bracket takes the place of that.
It makes sense about grinding back the bracket. How much thread did you have left before you screwed the bolt back on as her axle has the groove in the for the "C Clip"?
I know what your saying about the C clip but the way around this is to either drill the nut & axle with a small hole & use a split pin or change the nut for a castle nut & drill the axle.
I could not get the C clip back on without taking too much off the bracket so that's how I got over the problem.
