Hi there, when I try to start the bike(2008 sporty 883) it runs for a few seconds and then cuts. I am getting some strange fault codes: 51 dE st stAND or something like that, the trouble is they wiz by so quick they are hard to read, all help appreciated, Kally
if u sit on the bike and put up the jiffy stand does it starts up normally. If u pull the clutch lever in does it seem to start up normally ?
check your battery terminals are clean and tight
also check the ground to the bike clean an tight
clear the codes
see if that works
if not
what u can do
1 check the connections at the the Jiffy stand switch clean and greased
2 change the switch if faulty
Got it started today. Cleared the codes and started it with the jiffy stand up. Was ok for a while and the codes came back. Read on another forum that a low battery can cause this? Battery was low so am charging it at the mo, regards for help, Kally.
New battery has sorted this problem completely. Ł53 Motorbat, with more power that the normal Harley Battery. Should be good for some time as I have also bought a new tender to hook it up to when not riding, regards to all Kally
