Deadman's Throttle/Return Spring Issues
I have an 2007 Sportster Nightster. When I was replacing the Air intake with a Arlen Ness Big sucker I heard something pop but could never find out what it was.
Well it turns out that it was the return spring on my throttle, it didn't break it just popped out and became loose. Now I have a deadman's throttle and it makes me a bit nervous. It's not the cables because I can open the throttle near the air intake and it will just stay open.
I attempted to fix this by taking the air intake off and winding it back around but couldn't get it passed a part in the bike.
Has anyone had this issue and been able to fix it? Should I take off the entire throttle line to fix it? (Which makes me nervous?)
Any help would be great. Tried searching youtube/google for an answer and couldn't find much.
Thanks!
