Default Need advice from the windshield peanut gallery

Looking to get one of the two options from HD for my 48, but having a tough time deciding. One is 4 inches taller than the other but I like the looks of the tinted shorter one. Anyone know if the extra 4 inches provides better protection from bugs or wind?

I just bought the Harley davidson quick-release compact windshield 19" part# 58053-10. Used it a few times already on the highway and it is really a huge difference. Alot more comfortable on the highway without feeling your gonna fly off the motorcycle. It has quick release snaps that just go onto the front forks real easy no tools required. So i just take it off for city riding.

I can't comment on the shorter windshield though i haven't tried it.

A windshield should be about level with the bottom of your nose

Could you post some pics with it on your 48?

I'm looking at that one and the 15" part# 57682-10. I'm about 5'9" - 5'10" depending on which liquor store I'm robbing.

I also noticed that the product page for the 15" says that its made of Lexan but the 19" does not mention it. Wonder if they are made of the same material.

I have the 19" one on my 48. I've tried the smaller ones, but that line just always bugs me, I prefer looking through the windshield. But, if I sit up straight I can see over it. It catches many bugs, birds and other flying things. I usually have to wash it off after each ride.

Its on my sig pic.
