Ok, so I posted earlier about being super stoked to pick up my "new to me" '05 1200 Custom on Tuesday. I already put a deposit down on it, however, I just ran a VIN report on www.vincheckpro.com
The reports turns up issues with salvage title!!
Could someone please give me some advice on what I should do now?? Here's a link to the bike I'm buying:
call the dealer and tell them what you found and have them explain it to you, if it can't be rectified PASS on the bike, you will only have trouble selling it down the road
Get your money back and run. Saw no mention in the ad that it was a salvage title. Price was already on the high side if it would have been a clear title. Shop somewhere else. Can't believe it was an oversight on their part.
if they came back and corrected this by honoring the sale greatly marked down I would still entertain getting this bike especially if you aren't looking to resell.
